Manchester City had inserted a buy-back clause for teenage star Jadon Sancho before his transfer deadline day move to Borussia Dortmund for £7 million, the Sun reports.
It is reported that City failed to convince the young winger to stay following a mysterious refusal by Pep Guardiola to include the youngster in the Citizens’ pre-season tour.
But now it surfaces that the Light Blues have managed to insert a few clauses in their contract with Borussia Dortmund which could allow them to get the player back in the future. One of the clauses states that Manchester City hold the right to approach the player first should Dortmund decide to sell him.
Another clause gives the Citizens 15 per cent sell-on fee on anything above the £7 million Dortmund paid for him.
It is believed Sancho was left shattered by the pre-season snub by Guardiola, and this, along with his inability to see a way into the first team forced him to reject a £30,000 a week contract with the club before moving to Germany.

Sancho has become one of England U17s brightest stars since receiving his first call-up in 2016, having scored 14 goals in 17 games. He is currently on duty with the national side for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, where he has already scored three goals in three games as England are topping their group.
The former City player has also recorded two games for Borussia’s reserve team so far, contributing with an assists in Dormund’s 5:3 victory over Real Madrid in the Youth Champions League.
