Coach of the Year was awarded to Pep Guardiola, while the BBC’s Sports Personality Team of the Year 2023 was awarded to Manchester City.

The Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup were the three titles that Guardiola led City to win in the 2022–2023 season.

Since becoming the leading man of the Blues in 2016, the 52-year-old former Barcelona manager has guided the team to five Premier League crowns. To win the competition for the first time, City defeated Inter Milan 1-0 in the June Champions League final.

Erling Haaland, Man City’s striker, was named the Sport Star of the Year earlier in the Sports Personality ceremony. The Norwegian’s 52 goals across all competitions last season helped City become only the second Premier League team to win the Treble – after Manchester United achieved it in 1998-99.

City topped the Premier League – five points clear of Arsenal in second and 14 points clear of Manchester United in third.

They also beat city rivals Man United 2-1 at the FA Cup final at Wembley in June, then ended their quest for the Champions League title two years after losing to Chelsea in the 2021 final.

This season, City aims to win an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row and an eighth overall.

Guardiola, a former manager of Bayern Munich, has already guided City to two FA Cup titles and four League Cups, so we look forward to seeing more great things from him!
