Wenger looking into post-Cech life with RB Leipzig keeper on the radar

Arsene Wenger has singled out RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulasci as potential long-term replacement for Peter Cech, ESPN reports.

The 27-year-old Gulasci has made a string of impressive performances for the German outfit since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in 2015 while Peter Cech will turn 36 next May and has 18 months left on his current deal with the Gunners.

None of the current keepers in stock at Arsenal seem to satisfy Wenger for the role, with David Ospina only being allowed cup games while Emiliano Martinez was loaned out to Getafe in the summer.

Should Arsenal bid for the Hungarian keeper in January or next summer, they will be facing competition from Chelsea, who seem to preparing for the departure of Thibaut Courtois for Real Madrid.

Gulasci is not unfamiliar with the Premier League, having spent four years at Liverpool between 2008 and 2013. The Hungarian failed to break into the first-team, however, as his path was blocked by Pepe Reina.

Culasci’s current contract with RB Leipzig runs out in 2020. He is likely to cost the Gunners around £5 million.
