Although sources indicate Liverpool won’t stand in the way of Arsenal’s summer transfer plans due to a significant Mohamed Salah development, Arsenal is anticipated to make an offer for Wolves winger Pedro Neto.

Neto, who is playing at his best this season, has long piqued the curiosity of the Arsenal. In 18 games this season in all competitions, the dynamic 23-year-old winger has contributed 13 goals. His tally of eight league assists this season ties him with Pascal Gross for third place, behind only Kieran Trippier and Ollie Watkins (both 10).

Arteta could rest without worrying about suffering such a severe decline in team quality if Neto were included in the mix. To consistently compete for the highest titles in football both domestically and in Europe, Arsenal has to have strong depth.

Arsenal is now expected to put forward an offer for Neto when the summer transfer market opens, according to Football Insider. Additionally, it is said that Wolves may profit nearly immediately due to their obligation to follow the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

According to reports, Wolves is not expected to sign any players until the beginning of July. The club would be able to improve numerous areas if a high-profile star like Neto were to be sold. Previous reports stated that Wolves valued Neto at about £60 million.

Liverpool is also interested, but Salah’s future is the key

Football Insider has confirmed that Liverpool may join the battle to sign Neto. But if Mohamed Salah departs Merseyside, Liverpool would need a new left-footed right winger.

Given that Salah is reportedly leaning toward signing a contract deal, Liverpool’s need doesn’t seem to be as high as Arsenal’s. Salah may stay, but the team still has Harvey Elliott as a backup on the right side and Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota as wide players if needed.

By the conclusion of the season, the 31-year-old Egyptian will only have one year left on his current contract. Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia made a verbal approach of £150 million for Salah last summer, and when the next transfer market opens, an improved offer of £200 million is anticipated.

However, two different FI stories claim that not only is Liverpool certain that they will reach a new agreement with Salah, but the winger is also “open” to signing new terms. Salah staying and signing a new contract makes sense, so Liverpool probably won’t be spending big money on a right winger.

Other departments of their squad will take priority, such as centre-half and potentially central midfield once again.
