Arsenal are reportedly keen on bringing in Osasuna’s Iker San Vicente – dubbed the ‘new Gerard Pique’, The People reports (via Daily Mirror).

San Vicente, 16, has reportedly turned down a deal with the Spanish club which will make him a free agent in January.

The situation of the defender is keenly observed by a number of top European clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Reports suggest that Vicente was noticed by Barcelona’s main scout for the Basque region Abel Sacledo last month, but has since exploded on the football scene with other club’s interest stalling the possibility of a Catalan deal.

The youngster has not yet played for Osasuna’s first team.
