When does the 2023/2024 Premier League Football Season Start?

Dates Announced- When Do The Campaigns Get Underway? 

  • Premier League

Season 2023-24 of the Premier League is set to return on August 12 and end on May 19, 2024. The mid-season player break, will take place between January 13–20. Over the course of Christmas and New Year’s, no two rounds of competition will be held within 48 hours of one another.

  • La Liga 

The 2023–24 La Liga regular season will begin on Friday, August 11, for both levels. On Sunday, May 26th, the first division will come to a close, and on Sunday, June 2nd, the second division. Between June 9 and June 23, the play-offs for promotion to the top division in the second division will take place.

  • Bundesliga

The Bundesliga will begin on August 18, 2023, three weeks after Bundesliga 2, which began on July 28, 2023.

Both leagues will take a break for the Christimas period from 19-20 December 2023 and 15-17 December for the Bundesliga 2. The league will resume on January 12, 2024, after the winter break. The last day of the Bundesliga season is set for Saturday, May 18. On May 19, Bundesliga 2’s last game will be played. 

  • Serie A 

Beginning on August 19–20, 2023, Serie A will play out until May 26 next year.

The defending Serie A champions Napoli will get things off on the road against Frosinone, while Juventus will travel to Udinese in a rematch of the Old Lady’s 2022–23 season finale. Inter will play host to Monza at San Siro, while Milan will travel to Bologna. On Matchday 4, the first Derby della Madonnina of 2023–24 will see the two Milanese teams go up against each other.

  • Ligue 1

Ligue 1 will start on August 11, 2023 and end on May 18, 2024. The relegation play-offs will take place on May 30 and June 2, respectively.

The 2023–24 season of Ligue 1 will feature a total of eighteen French squads. At its general assembly in June 2021, the LFP decided to reduce the number of teams in Ligue 1 from 20 to 18 for the 2023–24 season by relegating four clubs and elevating two from Ligue 2 after 2022–23.

  • UEFA Champions League International 

The UEFA Champions League’s 69th season, began on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, and ends on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Premier League 23/24 Fixtures: Which Teams Participate?

The dates of all 380 games in the 2023–24 Premier League schedule have been set. Unless otherwise specified, matches take place at 15:00 BST on weekends and bank holidays and at 19:45 BST throughout the week.

Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town took the places of Leicester and Leeds and Southampton in the the 2023–24 season. After going 19 games without losing in the league, Vincent Kompany’s team was promoted in April, making it the fastest promotion in the Championship period. Sheffield United defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at euphoric Bramall Lane to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Seven of the English Premier League’s London teams are competing in the top flight: West Ham United, Brentford, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brentford. We will continue to watch the rivalry games between United and City in Manchester.

In the 2023–24 season, up to eight English teams will compete in European events. After finishing in the top four, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Arsenal will compete in the Champions League. The Europa League will include Brighton, Liverpool, and West Ham, who won the Conference League championship this year.

Aston Villa is now competing in Europe for the first time since 2010–11 after qualifying for the Conference League. Following a disappointing campaign, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were unable to qualify for any European tournament. While Spurs placed eighth, the Blues finished in 12th place.

What are the important dates for the EFL season in 2023/24?

The commencement of the English Second Division (the EFL) are Friday 04.08.2023, and Saturday 05.08.2023 respectively.

League One Playoff Final: May 18th

Final of the championship playoffs: May 26th

 The 2023-24 WSL Season

The weekend of September 29-30 and October 1 is the start date. May 18/19 is the last day.

What About The 2023-24 SPFL?

It begins on August 5-6, while January 3 to January 19 is winter vacation. The winter break is from December 18 to January 13 and begins on August 13. Round 22 is on March 3 and Round 32 is on March 19. The Playoff championships: May 23–24

The Carabao Cup 

The first round of the Carabao Cup will begin the week of August 7th, while on February 25th, the Carabao Cup final will be played.
