Courtios tells Chelsea teammates how to fend off Spurs title-challenge

Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has warned his teammates not to let their guard drop and has advised them to keep a cool head as current Premier League season enters its final stage.

Chelsea have kept a decent point-lead at the top of the table since November but have seen it dwindle to seven points to an in-form Tottenham Hotspur who have not lost in six Premier League matches.

Tottenham can even reduce the point-gap to four when they meet Bournemouth on Saturday before Chelsea’s difficult challenge against Manchester United on Sunday.

Courtois, however, believes the title is within reach if the team keeps the right mentality .

“To win the title, we just have to do the same as we have done over the last few months.” He said. “We have to try and win our games and we have to stay calm, whatever happens.

“Maybe it will happen that we don’t win two games in a row, but we are seven points clear so we have to keep on doing our thing. The team we are playing will be a factor because they will have more to play for.

“We will face teams who are fighting relegation or battling to get into Europe, so there are no easy games from now until the end of the season.

“We will maybe face hard games where teams will close down more and look for the counter-attack because they have to go for the win, so it’s not easy. But we just have to keep our winning mentality and fight until the end.”
