Numerous rumours claim that Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have finalised an agreement for Jadon Sancho to go on loan.

Sancho and manager Erik ten Hag had a public falling out, which resulted in Sancho being sidelined for nearly the whole of the 2023–24 season. The winger is expected to depart United during the January transfer window and has refused to apologise to Ten Hag for responding angrily to the manager’s remarks on his level of training.

After agreeing to take him on loan for the rest of the season, Sancho’s previous team, Dortmund, will fly him to Germany for a physical later on Wednesday. While Dortmund has agreed to pay €4 million as part of the deal, United will still pay a portion of Sancho’s salary. Additionally, the deal will not contain a buyout option.

On January 2, several German publications reported that Sancho and United were in negotiations, which heightened rumours about his potential return to Dortmund.

Though discussions concerning the finer print of the arrangement continued into this week, a deal was not anticipated to be reached as quickly, and the two teams have just now reached an agreement.

Sancho, who scored 50 goals in 137 games during his four-year contract with Dortmund from 2017 to 2021, is returning to the German team. He was able to transfer to United for £73 million because of his superb form, but he did not manage to quite live up to the hype.
