Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has rejected offers to play from two La Liga clubs in favour of playing under Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
Arsenal are putting the final touches on the deal, with their latest bid of around £55 million reportedly being accepted by Borussia Dortmund and Aubameyang already having agreed his personal terms with the club.
But Marcos Rodriguez of Don Balon reveals that the Gabonese striker has been approached by two other clubs this January – Atletico Madrid and Sevilla – both of which he has rejected.
It is understood Aubameyang holds serious interest to play for Real Madrid, but club president Florentino Perez does not have him in his plans despite the team misfiring up front this season.
With his dream move off the cards, Aubameyang has chosen a move to the Premier League where he believes his physique and pace will help him thrive.
Aubameyang is seen as the perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates, who has moved North to Manchester Untied.
The Gabonese has been stellar for Dortmund since joining them in 2013, having scored 98 goals in 144 games.
