Ashley Young has admitted that he is uncertain about his future at Manchester United, Mirror reports.
Young’s contract runs out at the end of the next season, but he also has an option to extend for another year. The English midfielder has been through a rough patch in the last couple of years, having played just 18 and 10 matches a season under Luis Van Gaal and now Mourinho, respectively.
Young, however, insists he is focused on his immediate results rather than transfer speculations.
“There is always speculation, especially when there is a transfer window and you are not playing.” he said. “But I have always said that I want to play as much as possible.
“What the future holds, I’m not too sure. I’m just concentrating on each game and when the manager calls on me, I will give 100 per cent and look to play as well as I can.
“I’m looking to play as many games as I can between now and the end of the season. That’s what I’m concentrating on now. That’s the main focus for me and we’ll see what happens.”
Reports suggest that Young refused a tasty offer coming from China to stay at United in February which may come down to talks he held with Mourinho, but lack of play time may eventually force the 31-year-old to do a Bastian Schweinsteiger in the summer.
