Chelsea attacking midfielder Willian has insisted that he is happy with his current role as a bit-part player under Antonio Conte.

The Brazilian has found his playing time limited this season as he has only stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes on two occasions since October.

The current situation has given birth to speculation that he could leave for Manchester United as soon as this January. And while Willian has not directly rejected the idea of moving North, he has sent a clear message about his future plans amidst making his 200th appearance for Chelsea since joining from Shakthar Donesk in 2013.

He said: “Yes, of course, it’s a big honour for me to make 200 appearances for Chelsea, a big club.

“I’m really happy about that. It’s gone quickly. Already I’ve been here for four years and I have many great memories. I’ve won two Premier League titles and one League Cup, and now I hope to play more games and win more trophies.

“I’m happy because the whole team played well against Qarabag, not just me. It was a very important game, we did our job and I scored two goals, so I hope I can continue to play in that way.”

Willian was selected man of the match in Chelsea’s 4-0 demolition of Qarabag last week as they sit comfortably top of Group C of the Champions League with one game to go.

Despite that Willian was used for only seven minutes in Chelsea’s visit to Anfield on Saturday, with the Brazilian scoring the late equaliser deny the hosts the three points.

It is understood Man United boss Jose Mourinho is a fan of Willian and is keen to capitalise on the Brazilian’s situation in bid to bring him at Old Trafford in January.

Willian’s current contract with the Blues expires in 2020.
