Manchester City entertained Spurs at the Etihad Stadium over the weekend in bid to extend their lead in the Premier League table.
The Citizens are unbeaten in the current campaign with every team wanting to break that form.
However, the hosts left no stone unturned dismantling Mauricio Pochettino’s side 4-1.
Here are the key points from the game:
City are just impeccable
City are certainly in the form of their life at the moment – four goals against a Top Four contender.
Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne got on the score sheet doubling the Citizen’s lead in the 70th minute.
This was the turning point. From there on, Tottenham could not deal with the attacking threat posed by Manchester City in transition.
Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling were terrific with their movement, their pace causing Spurs a lot of problems defensively.
Spurs’ only response was through Christian Eriksen who scored the consolation goal deep into injury time, but by then, it was all over.
Despite concerns, City are proving that they have squad depth
Manchester City side has proven that the key to their excellent form this season is personnel availability and their willingness to perform when it matters
Apart from Vincent Kompany and John Stones at the back, David Silva was also missing in this fixture. His replacement Ikay Gundogan came in and performed at a high level, scoring a goal and making an assist for Kevin De Bruyne.
Guardiola was definitely pleased with a performance of such quality. He’s certainly got nothing to complain about with Nicolas Otamendi and Elaquim Mangala who hold the defence together in the absence of the two main centre-backs.

Tottenham were totally outplayed
Undoubtedly, Tottenham Hotspurs were not up to par against City even with the formidable attacking talent at their disposal.
Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane could not live up to their usual selves as the hosts bossed match proceedings, especially in the second half.
Things have changed. Many were disappointed that Spurs could not replicate the form that earned them a 2-2 draw at the Etihad last season.
Spurs allowed City too much space and time on the ball and that was, ultimately, their downfall.
