The shocking news that Jurgen Klopp would leave his position as manager of Liverpool after the season sent shockwaves across the football world.

As he prepares to leave one of the greatest management success stories of his generation, the 56-year-old will undoubtedly receive several offers to get back to work as soon as possible, even though he may be eager to take a little vacation to refuel. These are five clubs where we think that Klopp may end up after Liverpool.

The German National Team

This summer is when Julian Nagelsmann’s contract with the German national team expires. Germany has been actively seeking Klopp for years. For both Klopp and Germany, who seem to have been waiting for the ideal moment to connect, the stars may have finally come together. If Klopp is looking for a job that would provide him with both excitement and relaxation, international management may be the ideal fit. Everything seems to be pointing toward Germany.

Borussia Dortmund

The Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic’s contract expires in 2025, but club executives will undoubtedly be persuaded to make an early switch.

Dortmund has never been able to reach the level that Klopp elevated them to as Germany’s top team. Dortmund has struggled this year and is far from contending for trophies after losing out on goal differential to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title match last season. Is Klopp interested in one last try? Because of his loyalty, it’s difficult to see him managing any other Bundesliga team. This seems like the ideal starting point if he seeks another club position.

Real Madrid

There is still a perception that 64-year-old Carlo Ancelotti is getting closer to the end of his managing career. There have been suggestions of switching to international work, but Ancelotti may see this as an opportunity to retire and give Madrid the chance to sign a big name to replace him. Speaking about how much he loves the Spanish weather, Klopp has also hinted at his limited command of the language. Maybe all it would take to get him to start taking lessons is the opportunity to add one more illustrious name to his resume.

Bayern Munich

As you might guess, losing the Bundesliga is almost as near to a firing offence at Bayern Munich, and as things stand, Thomas Tuchel could be worried about his future in Bavaria.

Klopp is the greatest name available in the nation, and Bayern enjoy snatching up the best in Germany. Bayern will be having a lot of talks behind closed doors as they decide what to do next. Although Klopp would like to go back to Germany, it’s difficult to imagine him abandoning his Borussia Dortmund origins to join the fiercest opponent.

Barcelona

After the Blaugrana took a significant step backwards this season, Xavi returned to Barcelona in crisis, steadied the ship, and provided some unexpected hardware. Nevertheless, the pressure is back on.

Barcelona may not be able to afford to keep the former midfield player around if he doesn’t improve by the end of the season. At that point, they could get enamoured with the idea of employing Klopp. Is it financially feasible for them to continue competing in the bidding war? Although it seems improbable, Klopp may be deterred from coming to Camp Nou by the media circus that typically envelops Barca.
