Harry Kane ended the year with the impressive 39 goals in a calendar year, breaking the 22-year record of former Blackburn Rovers legend Alan Shearer.
With a total of 56 goals for club and country, Kane has unsurprisingly been one of the hottest properties in the transfer window in recent time. Several European heavyweights are not hiding their appetite to secure the player’s signature as soon as this month.
Real Madrid are reportedly among the clubs who are ready to splash the cash for the former Arsenal academy man. According to the Daily Star, Los Blancos are willing to launch a mind-boggling £150-million bid to lure Kane away from White Hart Lane. The Spanish giants are even willing to throw in injury-prone Gareth Bale as part of the deal.
The wheels have been set in motion as it is understood Spurs have an agreement with the 12-time European champions that they will notify the White Ballet in case there is an offer from another Premier League outfit, so they have the option to match it.

Madrid, however, face competition from Manchester United. The Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is willing to lodge a lucrative offer to persuade the England international to move to Old Trafford.
The situation surround Kane is also not favourable to a potential Stadio Bernabeu move. Tottenham owner Daniel Levy doesn’t want to let the club’s most valuable asset go, given his past experiences with Bale and Luca Modric, while Kane has stated that he would like to commit his future to the North London outfit.
But a recent poll conducted by Spanish outlet Marca revealed that Harry Kane won 34 percent of the votes as the signing Real Madrid fans want this January. He topped players like Bayern Munchen’s Robert Lewandowski and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, and this might convince the Real Madrid board to commit to the chase despite the odds.
Los Merengues are looking for a suitable replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo, who turns 33 this year, and Karim Benzema who is showing signs that he is past his best.
With yet another annual calendar in the bin, we won’t be surprised to see Neymar’s transfer record getting broken, or at least getting matched, by Real Madrid this summer. And while the Englishman wants to stay at his beloved Spurs, Madrid’s ability to win trophies on a regular basis might prove too hard to resist in the end.
His current contract with Spurs expires in 2022.
