Former Barcelona star Neymar could make a daring move to Real Madrid only a year after joining Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee.
Neymar is reportedly unhappy with life in Paris, and the Sportsmole reports that the Brazilian maestro has a release clause worth £198 million – the exact amount that PSG paid for him to Barcelona.
Should that be the case, Madrid could be tempted to go for him as Cristiano Ronaldo is rumoured to be on his way out of Stadio Bernabeu come the season end.
There are very few players in the world of footdball who can replace Ronaldo, who is 33, at present, and Neymar fits that frame perfectly.
The former Barcelona man has reportedly now had a rift with manager Unai Emery regarding his methods of coaching. This comes following a clash with PSG star Edison Cavani over penalty-taking rights in September.
It is understood Neymar moved to the French giants because of promises that he will be the star of the team, but things have taken a turn for the worse since the Brazilian was sent off near the end of 2-2 draw against Marseille in October.
According to the Sun, Spanish sources believe that Neymar is already regretting his move away from Barcelona.
Barcelona TV station Beteve tweeted: “We understand that the Brazilian regrets leaving Barca and misses his life in Barcelona. The footballer is unhappy with Emery and his methods and is not comfortable in Paris.”
This comes despite Neymar insisting earlier that he is committed to PSG’s cause. He has so far scored 11 goals in 12 games for the French club, winning man of the match in his last game against Anderlecht before his suspension set in.
His current contract with PSG runs out in 2022.
