Draxler puts an end to speculation linking him to Arsenal

PSG midfielder Julian Draxler has put an end to speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal in January, Marca reports (via  ESPN).

The 24-year-old, who signed for PSG in January this year, was linked with a move to Arsenal with Alexis Sanchez going the other way, but now Draxler insists that he is fully committed to PSG for at least another two years.

“I’m not thinking about leaving the club in winter or even in the summer.” he told Marca. “I am right in the middle of the season with PSG and solely concentrating on our big targets.

“Now it is not the relevant time to think about my immediate or near future.”

Draxler has also been linked with move to Bayern Munich with the top German club looking to find replacements for both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who are 33 and 34 respectively. Despite rejecting the possibility of moving to England this season, Draxler has refused to rule out joining Bayern Munich in the future.

He added: “Of course the Bundersliga is always interesting.”

Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of Draxler and the recent developments will come as a huge blow to his aspirations of bringing him to the Emirates.

This will leave the Gunners with no choice but to look elsewhere for potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez who is set to leave the club this winter. Arsenal are reported to be looking into the possibility of signing Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha instead.

Draxler has contributed with nine goals and three assists in 30 matches since joining PSG. His contract runs out in 2021.
