And why form a club if you cannot play against anyone?” The answer of course is that there were plenty of clubs around to play but none of those survive now. Hi Alex…as with all of my games I email the club prior to my arrival and ask for any background….In Cheshunt’s case two emails went unanswered so it is difficult to write about anything apart from what I see!

poorly researched – a few questions at the game would have answered why the pitch is sited so far back, why the bar leads out onto the halfway line and even why the car park resembles a builders yard. Alas, its the look-and-write school at work here

Both a very good article and interview. As Ebbsfleet United’s programme editor I also interviewed James for the edition when our teams met at Stonebridge Road on New Years Day and was very impressed with his style and manourisms, as well as obvious dedication and commitment.

People at my own club have been quite complimentary of the Fleet’s programme since I took over a couple of months into the season, but judging by this article (and of course the programme when we played the Rooks in the conference) I’ve still got some ground to make up if I want it to be the best!

I very much look forward to my visit to the Dripping Pan tomorrow and in particular checking out the programme – it’s a bit of a shame it won’t be completely up to date because of the boxing day postponement but none the less I look forward to an enticing read and perhaps picking up one or two ideas for next season!

Some confusion here. Steve Portway never played for Cheltenham Town and he certainly didn’t play for us in the FA Trophy final!
